What Happens When We Die?

Death is not the end but a transition where the soul, embodying spiritual values and personal relationships, survives. Upon death, the soul resurrects on mansion worlds in a new, durable form, continuing relationships and personal growth in the afterlife.

What Happens When We Die?
  • Summary

Death of the body and mind is not the end. During life on earth, a soul is created, and this soul is what lives on. Spiritual values and personal relationships are the essence and substance of the soul. The soul leaves the body behind and resurrects nearby on the mansion worlds where it inhabits a new and indestructible body, an angel-like form. Jesus referred to the mansion worlds when he said: "In my Father’s house are many mansions."

Soul survivors will remember and be remembered by those they knew in their earthly lives. Their personalities will be the same in the next life. Death is the doorway to the next stage of life, where those who died before us will greet us and teach us about life on the mansion worlds, the first of many heavens.

  • Why We Die

Primitive people feared death and did not understand that it was inevitable. The human body is designed to live only so long. Life on an evolving planet like ours is just the first stage of existence. It is where the soul comes into being. Just as a larva becomes a butterfly, souls born on this world emerge on the mansion worlds in another type of body, a living form much like the angels. Dying is natural, and when seen through a spiritual lens, it is not to be feared or avoided.

  • Ways to Die

Bodies of flesh and bone will be left behind when the soul moves on to the mansion worlds. But more spiritually advanced souls can circumvent death and leave their bodies through a process called translation or fusion. The Bible has a record of the translation of two who exited life by this method of planetary departure; Enoch and Elijah both ascended in "chariots of fire." Fusion is a common way to depart life on worlds that are highly evolved. Our world will one day have a temple where families gather in joyful celebration to see their relatives and friends lifted up and their souls carried away to the next life in the mansion worlds.

Less advanced beings, mortals who live on worlds before the translation temple has been erected, terminate this life through the portal of death. The result is the same – fused individuals and those who die will both resurrect on the mansion worlds.

  • Mass Resurrection

Jesus’ resurrection on April 9, 30 CE marked the end of an age. All the souls who had not previously ascended, ones who slept the unconscious sleep of death, were resurrected on the mansion worlds to continue life in the first heaven. This is often referred to as a dispensational resurrection. These occur during the early stages of a planet’s evolution and those who resurrect take up life right where they left off when they died. Dispensational resurrections happen periodically and are a regular feature on younger worlds that have not yet established fusion temples.

  • Resurrection after Three Days

Certain spiritually advanced humans can leave their bodies and resurrect in three days. This happened to Jesus. On the third day after his death, he arose and took up life in a new form, not unlike an angel’s. But whether the soul resurrects after just three days or awaits dispensational resurrection, the effect is the same. Death provides an exit for the soul, along with the personality-identity and the indwelling spirit of God. These elements of being recombine in the resurrection halls of the mansion worlds and are put into a new and heavenly body.

Jesus, having lived before he incarnated and having a special mission, resurrected on earth before moving on to the mansion worlds. He appeared in his spirit form nineteen times before ascending. His was a special case, but no different from all others in that he left his physical body behind and took up life in another and higher form. Once it is understood that life goes on, all fear and dread of aging, illness, and death fade away, replaced by faith and trust in a God of eternal life who is "not willing that any should perish."

  • Personality Survival

Human beings, from a cosmic perspective, are born, live, and die in a relative instant of time. But mortal personality, through its own choosing, possesses the power of transferring its seat of identity from the physical body to the higher soul system. This soul, in association with the personality and the indwelling spirit of God, enters a new and more enduring vehicle for continuing life on the mansion worlds. The soul is always evolving but, throughout all eternity, there is one part of us that remains absolutely unaltered, and that is personality.

  • What Should I Expect?

When you awaken on the mansion worlds, you will be so changed, the spiritual transformation will be so great, that you will at first have difficulty in connecting the new consciousness with the memory of your previous identity. Much of the mortal life would at first seem to be a vague and hazy dream. But time will clarify many mortal associations.

The mansion world resurrection brings together loved ones and ancestors who have passed away at different times. When your relatives and friends greet you on the mansion worlds, you will have the opportunity to continue your journey together. It will be a joyful and meaningful reunion, with support and encouragement for one another. The mansion worlds are places of spiritual growth and preparation for the next stages of your eternal journey, a place where love is an actuality and every fear has been left behind.

The human race was created just a little lower than the more simple types of the angelic orders]. As a result, your first assignment will be to assist the seraphim in the immediate work that awaits you once you have attained personality consciousness. Your guardian angels will be there to greet you, visible for the first time. This first awakening on the mansion worlds is a profound experience in the career of an ascending mortal; there, for the first time, you can actually see your ever-present angelic companions of earth days; and you can also become truly conscious of the identity and individualized presence of God, who has so long indwelt your mind on earth. Such an experience constitutes a glorious awakening, a real resurrection.

The fragment of God that indwelt you during your life in the flesh will recall and rehearse for you only those memories and experiences that are a part of, and essential to, your universe career. If the Indweller has been a partner in the creation of anything of spiritual value, then these worthwhile experiences will be recalled. But much of your past life and its memories, having neither spiritual meaning nor eternal value, will perish with the material brain. However, personality and the relationships between persons never perish; mortal memory of personality relationships has cosmic value and will persist. On the mansion worlds, you will know and be known, and more, you will remember and be remembered by your onetime associates in the short but intriguing life on earth.
